This marks the first time a Hyundai vehicle has received this honor, underscoring the brand's growing influence in the Chinese automotive market.
The China COTY Awards, which have been recognizing excellence in the automotive industry since 2012, are considered one of the most authoritative in the country. A panel of 48 esteemed automobile journalists and key opinion leaders (KOLs) from across China evaluate the vehicles across various categories. The IONIQ 5 N emerged victorious in the ‘Performance Car of the Year’ category, outshining both Chinese and global competitors.
Hyundai's IONIQ 5 N impressed the judges with its excellent performance and innovative features. Earlier this year, it was named a Top 10 Finalist in November and then advanced to the Top 3, competing against models from Lynk & Co and Mercedes-Benz. Selected from a pool of 112 models, the high scores awarded to the IONIQ 5 N further highlight the vehicle's outstanding capabilities.
“The Hyundai N brand, which was launched in China in 2023, has made a significant impact with the IONIQ 5 N. Yong Il Yin, Vice President and Head of the China N Brand Business Group, stated, "We are committed to expanding the exciting experiences offered by the N brand as we strengthen our position in the Chinese market." This achievement reflects Hyundai's strategic focus on electric vehicles and high-performance models as it continues to establish its presence in China's competitive automotive landscape.
