Online education Platform-Coursera files for stock market listings under U.S. regulations on Friday. It reveals a surge in revenue from a boost to business due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
According to a company’s spokesperson, It’s revenue rose 59% to $293.5 million for the year end Dec. 31, 2020 while filing. According to the website, Coursera offers courses like machine learning, cloud computing and language learning under its platform used by 3,700 colleges and universities. It has also launched “coursera for campus” in response to pandemic outbreak in order to help educational institutes to offer courses to stuck-at-home students. Online learning platform has also benefited to retrenched employees to enrol into new dimensions. California based Mountain view company coursera was founded in year 2012 and its investor are venture capital firm GSV Capital and Kleiner Perkins. In July 2020, It raised $130 million in funding, bringing its cash balance to more than $300 million.Other online learning portals like Nerdy Inc. and Skillsoft chose to go public through deals with blank-check firms as well.
